The Queen’s Birthday
Our next public holiday in WA is the Queen’s Birthday. Queen Elizabeth II is one of the most important dignitaries in the world and the constitutional monarch of Australia. Her image is on the currency we use every day but how much do our students really know about her – introduce the Queen to your students through this K-3 slideshow and join in the celebration of her birthday!
ANZAC Day True/False Quiz
This primary slideshow quiz is most suited to Years 2 – 4 but upper primary students may get a buzz out of answering many statements correctly! Also, you may wish to check out my K- 10 ANZAC Day slideshow.
ANZAC Day
This slideshow begins with a few slides about ANZAC Day suited to all students and is followed by another section for older students exploring the song, “Only Nineteen”, by the Australian folk band, Redgum. Please preview the presentation and links to ensure the content is appropriate for your students. Some options for primary students, at your discretion; just use part or all of the lyrics, mute the video and listen to the song, watch a selected segment of the video and mute the picture for the rest (or more graphic scenes) – you know the drill!! You may also wish to check out the ANZAC Day True/False Quiz created by my work experience student, Monica!
Further resources are available in my Remembrance Day post.
